A RARE SELF-PRIMING BRASS-BARRELLED FLINTLOCK BLUNDERBUSS

With three-stage belled barrel fitted with a Water's Patent spring bayonet on the underside, engraved iron tang, flat bevelled border engraved bolted lock signed 'WATERS GILL & CO.' and with stepped tail and roller, the steel incorporating the self-priming magazine, figured walnut three-quarter stock carved in low relief with a raised apron and shell behind the barrel-tang, engraved iron trigger-guard incorporating the bayonet-release mechanism, scroll engraved brass butt-plate, shaped brass escutcheon, and later horn-tipped ramrod fitted to the left side of the fore-end, private Birmingham proof marks, maker's mark of John Waters
