A SASANIAN ROCK CRYSTAL STAMP SEAL
CIRCA 5TH CENTURY A.D.
With stylized stag head with curving wings either side, ¾ in. (2 cm.) high; an amethyst stone with the figure of a bird, possibly Sasanian, 5th Century A.D., ½ in. (1.3 cm.) long; a rock crystal scarab, the underside with the stylized figure of a man facing a leaping goat, within ropework border, possibly 5th-4th Century B.C., 5/8 in. (1.6 cm.) long; and a flat oval-shaped agate magical gem with the stylized symbol of a uterus, Greek inscription above and below, possibly Graeco-Egyptian, 2nd-3rd Century A.D., 1 in. (2.5 cm.) long (4)
