A continental silver ecuelle and cover
circa 1750, maker's mark Sh in script beneath coronet, standard and/or townmark D over 12 coronet above, also struck with unidentified mark
Shaped circular, on three shell and hoof feet, the plain body with two openwork, scroll and rocaille handles, the raised partly fluted cover chased with swirling flutes and with applied rocaille and flower finial, engraved with a Latin inscription, marked on body and cover
