Shaped rectangular with gadroon borders, leaf-capped scroll handles and foliate shell corners, on four lion paw supports, the centre with inner bead border and a let-in silver panel engraved with coat-of-arms
26 7/8 in. (68.3 cm.) long, handle-to-handle
The shield is engraved with the arms of Fitzgerald of Turlough co. Mayo and of Gurteen co. Waterford impaling a variant of Russell of Bedfordshire.
