Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin, envelope and Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1963 and its subsequent sale on 14 November 1963. Furthermore delivered with Republic and Canton of Geneva Certificate of Origin for the watch dated 18 July 1964, retailer Gobbi Milano original Certificato d'Origine/Garanzia di Manutenzione and small card-size information leaflet on calibre 23-300.

Reference 3472, launched in 1962, was so far only known as a circular openface pendant watch, the dial and polished bezel set into a slim, satined outer case. For the present watch however only the circular inner case and polished bezel were used and set by Patek Philippe into a custom-made leather bracelet.

Preserved in very attractive overall condition, this watch is furthermore believed to be one of only two examples of a reference 3472 in pink gold made as a wristwatch known to exist to date.
