Anonymous (Mexican 18th Century)
Finely carved cedar box with metal lock standing on 4 feet detailed with stylized metalware adornments that act as hinges for the lid. The entire exterior surface is decorated with alternating incised fan and floral motifs for the lid and bas-relief patterning for the lower section. The box opens to reveal a plain compartment.
