The intaglios in this necklace were engraved after the antique in the Roman style. Beginning from the top of the illustration, they depict a satyr-like head; the Centaur Chiron with a youth playing a harp and a satyr-like youth playing the double-flute; a Nereid riding a mythological goat; two warriors wearing crested helmets, holding shields and spears, accompanied by a warrior leaning over a vase; a frenzied Maenad in a Bacchanal scene; a portrait head of a Greek bearded poet or philosopher and a portrait head of a Roman noblewoman.
