LONDON, 1677, THE STAND WITH MAKER'S MARK D, THE SNUFFERS WITH MAKER'S MARK IS IN DOTTED OVAL
The stand elongated octagonal with reeded rim, on four scroll feet, with an openwork and beaded spatulate handle, later engraved with a coat-of-arms, the snuffers of scissor form with loop handles, engraved with a crest, marked on stand and snuffers
the stand 9 in. (22.8 cm.) wide
13 oz. (409 gr.)
The arms are perhaps those of Home impaling Drummond for Henry Home, later Lord Kames (1696-1782) and his wife Agatha (1711-1795), daughter of James Drummond of Blair Drummond, Perthshire, who he married in 1741. (2)
