MAKER'S MARK F.O. & CIE IN AN OVAL, PROBABLY FOR LES FRERES OLTRAMARE, GENEVA, CIRCA 1810
rectangular box with canted corners, the cover, sides and base engine-turned with horizontal bands of reeding alternating with bands of circular and vertical reeding on the base, the cover applied with an octagonal enamel plaque painted with two putti holding a globe and a telescope amidst clouds, within a chased acanthus border, flanked by chased triangular panels with attributes of Music on a sablé ground, the cover and base with borders enamelled in opaque blue decorated with gold foliate pattern and white enamelled pellets, the four corners with chased spandrels in gold in opaque blue with white borders
