MOMMESSIN
Inherited from the Cluny monks who had cleared the land and planted vines on their properties around Mâcon, Mommessin has its origins in southern Burgundy. In 1865, Jean-Marie Mommessin chose to set up his company at Grange-Saint-Pierre, one of the former outbuildings of the Cluny Abbey. It was from there that the key, which has become the symbol of the brand, was taken. The purchase of the famous Clos de Tart vineyard in 1932 made Mommessin the darling it is with Burgundy lovers today.
