Conrad Kiesel, German (1846-1921), was a trained architect and sculptor. His subsequent career as a portrait painter and as a painter of exotic subjects was spilt between Berlin and Munich. He held an honorable professorship at the Berlin Academy of Arts, executed commissions for Emperor Wilhelm II, and was received with high acclaim at the Berlin, Munich and Paris exhibitions of the late 19th century.
