The rectangular case with arched hood above an engraved and silvered dial with Roman chapters and with chime/silent and Westminster Chimes dial indicators, signed with partially indistinct retailer's signature, N. METSON CHICAGO, the triple chain fusee movement with anchor escapement, striking the quarters on a nest of eight bells and the hours on going; pendulum, the sides with silk-lined pierced sounding panels and the front angles mounted with figural chutes, on a stepped base with scrolled feet
