Maker's Mark Cyrillic 'DA', probably for Dimitri Alexandrov, Moscow, 1883
Rectangular with trefoil upper section, the central panel depicting Christ Pantocrator, the wings depicting St Nicholas the Wonderworker and St Grand Duke Alexander Nevskii, all realistically painted with repoussé chased and engraved silver vestments applied to realistically engraved gilt grounds, the wings closing to reveal the cross surrounded by scrolling foliage and strapwork, the reverse similarly engraved, marked on both sides of each panel
7½ in. (19 cm.), long extended
