Two Porcelain Plates
By the Popov Factory, Moscow, circa 1820
Each circular, the centre of one painted with a couple walking in a terraced garden with classical architecture, within a gilt border, the rim with ciselé border decorated with acanthus leaves, rosettes and trophies of war, the centre of the other painted with two ladies on a path beside a Gothic church with walled city behind, within a gilt border, the rim with foliate ciselé border, both marked under base with underglaze blue factory mark and impressed numerals
