A Glass Tumbler and Flute
By the Imperial Glass Works, St Petersburg, 1840-1850
The tumbler cylindrical with faceted lower section, the cobalt blue body transfer decorated with a half-length portrait, possibly of Empress Alexandra Feodorovna, within a wreath of oak and laurel, surmounting an Imperial double-headed eagle and beneath an Imperial crown, inscribed and signed in Cyrillic 'G na A. Rameikova.', the reverse with gilt scrolling floral decoration, apparently unmarked; the flute on a circular foot, the tapering body with faceted lower section, transfer decorated with a scene of two couples in Eastern costume eating, drinking and playing the lyre, apparenly unmarked
