FIRST EDITION of "a curious little work of which we have found no mention other than the listing in Brunet who also lists a later edition of 1628 which contains additional treatises by Paul and Jacques Contant, one of which was a commentary on Dioskorides" (Hunt). The first nine plates depict multiple animals on each, some mythical and grotesque, and the final large folding plate shows a bouquet of flowers. VERY RARE: according to American Book Prices Current, no copies of this work have appeared at auction in at least 30 years. Hunt 188.
