A PAIR OF ROMAN GLASS BOTTLES
CIRCA 2ND CENTURY A.D.
Each pale blue-green in color, free-blown, piriform, on a flat base, the cylindrical neck off-set by a groove, the thick everted rim folded in, each fitted to a bronze ring below the rim, joined to two bronze chains attached to a ring, and a single chain then joined to a second ring for suspension, the conical bronze stopper also joined to a chain
Each bottle: 5 in. (12.7 cm.) high
Each bottle with the chains: 15 7/8 in. (40.3 cm.) high (2)
