Lot Essay

Frederick Schiller Cozzens was one of America's best known marine artists, renowned primarily for his beautiful and technically accurate renderings of the famous yachts of the day and for his early depictions of the fledgling New York Yacht Club's racing events. His series of lithographs American Yachts, Their Clubs and Races from which these prints come were widely received.
