Lot Essay

Built at Glasgow by Robert Thompson and Sons in 1891, the four-masted Eulomene was owned by the Liverpool Shipping Company (Ferniers) who employed her throughout her career. Registered at 2,725 tons gross (2,607 net), she measured 310 feet in length with a 43 foot beam. After 14 successful years, she was reported missing on passage from Bremerhaven to the Tyne in 1905 and never seen again.
