A LATE 19TH CENTURY GOLD AND PEARL NECKLACE
Composed of eight scrolling openwork panels with pearl detail, each suspending a baroque-shaped pearl drop to the chain-link connections with pearl accents and foliate terminals, pearls untested, circa 1890, 39.0cm long
Exhibited
The pearls are of a slightly creamier tone than in the catalogue illustration. Some of them have a slight variation in tone, with some of the pearl accents showing a more pinkish hue than others. Some of the baroque drops show slight indications of glue where they have been fixed into their mounts, but are in overall good condition. The articulation of the links and tension of the clasp is good.
