Oblong 2o (383 x 518 mm). Text entirely lithographed on Japanese style paper in Itten's handwritten script (the title-page in blue). Hundreds of lithographed line drawings and diagrams by the author in the text, numerous tipped-in halftone illustrations (5 in colors), 4 color charts in text, composed of a total of 53 tipped-in color samples, each handpainted in gouaches on card. Original blue cloth binding; original blue cloth slipcase.
LIMITED EDITION, number 234 of a total edition of 330. The enormous success of Itten's Kunst der Farbe published by Otto Maier in Ravensburg, prompted Itten, to gather the surviving unbound sheets of his Tagebuch, and release them 30 years after it's first publication. The work is based on Itten's classes at the Bauhaus Weimar.
