Lot Essay

This elegant table, inlaid on a rosewood gound, is conceived in the South German 'Boulle' revival style of the mid-19th Century. It relates to the oeuvre of Franz Xavier Fortner, the celebrated Munich cabinet-maker. For a related table see: Christie's South Kensington, 23 February 2010, lot 316.
