Lot Essay

This exceptionally beautifull and large parquet floor was made for the Leopold wing of the Hofburg palace in Vienna. The last emperor to live in the Leopold wing of the Hofburg was Emperor Ferdinand. Before he moved in the bel etage was extensively renovated in 1835, at this time the present floor was installed. Since 1946 the Leopold wing was used as the Residence of the President of Austria.
