woven with double headed eagles in red, blue and white; and a large panel of aubergine damask, Italy, late 16th, early 17th century, woven with a beige leafy meander, interspersed with birds; a blue silk woven with a floral meander; another woven with a cloth of silver ground, with inscriptions to the loom end; another panel of red silk brocaded with metal thread palmettes; and a fragment of linen and wool; four velvet panels, Italy, 16th century, the first a fragment of red cut and un-cut velvet from a fiddle-back chasuble, woven with a diamond lattice; the second a square with zigzag patterned cut and uncut velvet; the third small square of aubergine cut and uncut velvet; the fourth a large panel of red voided velvet cut with lobed cartouches, Genoa, 15th century
