Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with Breguet numerals in 1993 and its subsequent sale on April 29th of the same year. Further accompanied by Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin dated November 5, 1993, leather electric winding presentation box, leather envelope, additional back, 18k gold setting pin and product literature.

To the best of our knowledge, this watch has never before been offered in public.

Patek Philippe produced the reference 5040 from 1992 until approximately 2008. It was produced in two series. The reference number was introduced in 1992 with the first series bearing movement numbers beginning in 77. The second series began in approximately 1998 with the movement numbers beginning with 312.
