TWO HOPI KACHINA DOLLS
Wilson Tewaquaptewa (1871-1960)
The first carved in cottonwood root with semi circular feet, the bent arms carved close to the body and wearing a kilt and sash and a case mask with tubular mouth, the head surmounted by large tab ears; painted in blue, white red, black and brown. The other identically carved with slightly more pointed mouth and larger ear tabs, wearing a red necklace and painted in blue, red, black, white and brown.
