TWO STAFFORDSHIRE CREAMWARE COW CREAMERS AND COVERS
Circa 1755-1765
Of Whieldon-type, colored with lead oxides, the first modeled as a cow nursing its calf, splashed in yellow, gray, green and manganese glazes on a shaped rectangular base, the domed cover with flower finial; the second as a milkmaid in a blue dress seated and milking a cow splashed in manganese, the oblong octagonal base enriched in green, the cover a later replacement
