In the 16th century style, circular, the centre inset with a cast and chased plaque with a classical battle-scene, the reverse with an elaborate coat-of-arms within scroll and putti cartouche, the sides enamelled in blue, green and red with champlevé drapery and scrolls, with hinged cover and two supsension rings

The arms are those of Castellane de Brun, Provence
