CIRCA 1780
Painted overall in pale green and red, the rectangular bevelled plate between fluted uprights with foliate capitals and rosettes, below a glazed panel with draped-urn surmounted by a ribbon-tied oval print of a bust of Cybele, flanked by baluster urns, with printed label CIBELLE to reverse, redecorated
50¾ x 21 in. (129 x 53.5 cm.)
Provenance
Probably supplied to Sir Thomas Rumbold, Bt., (d. 1791) for Lady Rumbold's Dressing Room at Woodhall Park, Hertfordshire.
Probably sold from Woodhall during the 1920s.
