With gilt finished verge movement, engraved and pierced cock, chain fusée, white enamel dial with Arabic numerals, all hinged within a mandolin-form case with semi-ovalat body decorated with white and black champlevé enamel sheets of music on green champlevé enamel foliage decoration on blue guilloché enamel background, surrounded by a polychrome champlevé enamel geometrical decoration, the band with painted black scores on white enamel background and bearing the painted inscription Paul Et Virginie, the soundboard with green champlevé enamel foliage and pearl-set decoration on scarlet guilloché enamel background, cock exposed through the sound hole, the black champlevé enamel neck with six twisted gold strings leading to the stylised gold and pearl-set tuning pegs, unsigned
