In the 1930s, white jewels were the height of fashion. After the colourful designs of the previous decade, which had been subject to such influences as the discovery of the treasures of Tutankhamun's tomb, jewellery designers opted for the sheer brilliance of diamonds. This was combined with strong geometric patterns to create such marvels as the present suite.
