A natural capsule of fish eggs (chondrichthyes), colloquially called a "mermaid's purse," accessorized to hang from a man's obi, decorated in black hiramaki-e with a fishing basket and rod, the reverse with fish bones, the natural filaments curled back inside the pouch, a gilt- copper ojime of a persimmon and a stag-antler netsuke of a bamboo flower vase stained green
