A bronze figure of Durga
India, Gujarat or Rajasthan, 17th/18th century
The four-armed Durga stepping atop the defeated buffalo and pulling the demon out of its neck with one hand while piercing her wounded prey with a trident, holding a sword and lotus in her upper hands, wearing a short stippled dhoti, her face with inlaid eyes centered by a silver bindu, her tiger mount biting the buffalo's tail, both over a pierced stepped base backed by a mandorla, the verso with inscription
