Lot Essay

Lin Bu was a poet and famous recluse, who claimed that he considered plum trees his wife and pet cranes his children, and therefore never married. He was a lifelong resident of Hangzhou, and spent 20 years living on Solitary Mountain, an island in Hangzhou's West Lake. Every morning he would release the cranes from their cages, and they would return at night.
