A MID-VICTORIAN MAHOGANY EXTENDING DINING TABLE

The top with demi-lune ends, drawing out on telescopic stretchers to accommodate leaves, on five turned and fluted tapering legs terminating in brass caps and white ceramic castors, stamped 'A6049' to one stretcher, with seven various additional leaves, lacking winding mechanism
29½ in. (75 cm.) high; 61 in. (155 cm.) diameter (unextended); 191 in. (485 cm.) wide (extended)
Provenance
Almost certainly acquired by Sir Graham Graham-Montgomery 3rd Bt., for Stobo Castle, Peeblesshire, and by descent at Stobo and Kinross.
