CIRCA 1755, THE STRETCHER LATER
The rectangular top on four cluster column supports with imbricated bosses joined by a later conforming stretcher, the top previously with gallery, one pierced bracket replaced
29½ in. (74 cm.) high; 29½ in. (75 cm.) wide; 19¼ in. (49 cm.) deep
Provenance
Possibly acquired by James Montgomery (1720-1803), later 1st Bt. of
Stanhope, and by descent at Stobo and Kinross.
