A FINE HUNGARIAN GILT-BRASS-MOUNTED DRESS SABRE
EARLY 19TH CENTURY
With curved single-edged fullered blade double-edged towards the point, 'Mameluke' hilt with quillon-block decorated in low relief with foliage and flowers and with tapering straight quillons each with bud-shaped finial, leather-covered grip set on each side with an escutcheon bearing the Royal Arms of Hungary, and lion-mask pommel, in original leather-covered scabbard with gilt-brass mounts decorated en-suite with the hilt, and with two rings for suspension, each mounted above a clenched lion's paw
