A PAIR OF GILT DECORATED BLUE GLASS EWERS FOR THE OTTOMAN MARKET
CENTRAL EUROPE, 19TH CENTURY
Each of dark blue opaque glass, rising from trumpet base to round bulbous body and tapering mouth with flaring rim, 's'-shaped handle and spout, with original pewter lid attached to top of handle with small round finial, decorated with gilt floral sprays, further floral and vegetal gilt decoration on and around base of spout and punctuating base, mid section of spout and mouth, further gilt border around spout and mouth terminal, gilt decoration slightly rubbed
