This treatise compiles quotes by a large number of Andalusian poets and physicians, most of them from the 10th and 11th century AD. The following authors can be found in the text: Ibn Bassal (d. 1085 AD), Ibn Darraj al-Qastalli (d. 1030 AD), Ibn Burd (d. 1053 AD), Ibn al-Haddad (d. 1087 AD), Ibn Samhun (d. 1002 AD), Ishaq bin 'Imran (fl. 10th c.), Ibn Wahshiya (fl. 9th c.), Al-Mu'tamad Ibn 'Abbad, ruler of Seville (d. 1095), as well as others whose identity is difficult to establish.
