the lampas woven with dark brown wool and tan coloured silk, depicting roundels with facing peacocks, alternating with a palmette-tipped tree flanked by griffins and the Qajae silk panel woven with seated figures in blue and pink robes

The dating of Buyid silks has been the subject of intense debate (See CIETA, 35, 1973, M Lemberg, The Buyid Silks of the Abegg Foundation, Ars Orientalis XXII et aliter.

This textile has been dated to 95 confidence intervals AD 1480-AD 1670.
