Château Pavie--Vintage 1998
Saint-Emilion, 1er grand cru classé
Lot 321: two nicked labels
Parcel: lots 320-321
"The 1998 Pavie was surprisingly fresh, with a ripe, young, elegant currant fruit character on the nose. Admittedly, there was still a bit of French oak that needs to be resolved, but all in all, the wine shows admirable restraint, elegance and balance. The texture on the palate is harmonious, with a balanced extraction and no hint of the heaviness of some recent vintages. Really very good." CC, April 2010 at Christie's.
