A MING CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL AND LACQUER BOWL
17TH CENTURY
The cloisonné enamel exterior with scrolling leafy lotus blooms in alternating red, white and yellow, above a band of lotus lappets, the concave base similarly decorated with a single large lotus bloom encircled by leafy scrolls, the interior of the bowl thinly lacquered and decorated mirroring the decoration on the exterior in gilt outlines and paint
5½ in. (13.5 cm.) diam.
