Cartouche form, the gold finely chased and enameled with scrolls and foliage, the cover set with an enamel portrait of Louis XIV atrributed to Jean Petitot and a later hand, surrounded by diamonds, marked inside base and cover with spurious warden's mark for Paris 1738 and the charge of Louis Robin and maker's mark of Gabriel Gallois; the rim with décharge
