1701, INITIALLED IE, POSSIBLY FOR JOHN EAGLESTONE
Of baluster form with loop handles, decorated in cream-coloured slip on a brown ground finished with a lustrous glaze, dated 1701 among dots and dashes and meandering lines and initialled IE between the handles (small triangular section to rim missing, minor chipping)

This appears to be the pair to another example made in the same year by the the potter signing I.E, possibly John Eaglestone. Between the years 1687 and 1721 he was responsible for thirty-one examples so far recorded.
