The present plate is not recorded by Lipski and Archer although a similar plate dated 1734 is, see Louis L. Lipski and Michael Archer, Dated English Delftware, London, 1984, p. 92, no. 392.
This plate has a wealth of information on paper labels to the reverse applied by previous owners, the earliest, inscribed by P.A. Fry and dated 1869 states the initials EB are for 'Elizabeth Burton who lived 20 miles from Kendel. Christie Binns who lived at Ayton 87 years of age told me her Great-Grand-Mother was a Burton and that it was made for her.'
