Keane Osborne served in the 5th Dragoon Guards in the Peninsular War where he was Assistant Quarter Master General to the British Army. He was killed at the Battle of Salamanca on 22 July 1812. He married in 1805 the Hon. Theodosia Ward, daughter of the Hon. Edward Ward, M.P. On her husband's death, she received £3,000 'in consideration of his meritious services and of his having been killed in battle'.
