Of compressed form, painted in Schwarzlot, the box with a continuous wooded landscape with a woodsmen, one resting by his dog, the shallow domed cover with a figure fishing and another sewing seeds in a river landscape around a faceted knop finial, gilt line borders (minute wear to gilding, upper rim of box with a shallow polished rim chip, interior with four stained firing cracks)

Errol Manners identified that the majority of the decoration on the cover has been adapted from an engraving by or after Bloemaert (1564-1651) published by C.J. Visscher.
