Lot Essay

See Emile Bourgeois, Le Biscuit de Sèvres, no. 533 where the author attributes this to Boizot, however the existence of a terracotta by Augustin Pajou formerly in the Lehmann Collection signed and dated 1790 appears to be the original on which this model was based.
