The stem modelled in bronze as Atlas with a gilt loin-cloth, supporting on his shoulders the globular font, the detachable cover with a silver-gilt finial cast as an eagle, suspending chains with two implements, all on a marble and slate base, with a detachable frame for a shade, (material lacking), engraved with an inscription, marked under font, on cover and on implements
the lamp 14 7/8 in. (38 cm.) high
The inscription reads 'Marse Tomso Salviati L'an 1813'
