PROBABLY ENGLISH, CIRCA 1760
tapering flattened rectangular étui of rectangular section with rounded corners, hinged slightly domed cover, of black shagreen with reeded gold mounts, obverse and reverse of both cover and base applied with embossed gold floral motifs, top of cover similarly decorated, gold push-piece, the interior fitted with steel scissors with gold handles, an ivory tablet, a gold ear-spoon, and a tortoiseshell piqué folding knife, some implements missing
